Zebras, March 23rd Open House coming, and Shamrock Shakes

Aloha Happy Campers and Friends,

Did you know that Blossom is coming back? She is our awesome Zebras Counselor.  She is so in love with Zebras that she received some cozy zebra PJ’s from her groovy mom (with the feet in them), zebra tennis shoes, and even has adopted a Zebra in Africa through www.worldwildlife.org.  Her major at Wagner college (in crazy, snowy, freezing New York)  is Education.  She is looking forward to another summer at camp where hopefully she will get warmed up after all of that winter.  She is really pumped on camp, has a lot of fun activities planned, and enjoys group time with her kids!

March 23rd (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.) Our first Open House of the season will include several of our returning staff members and directors.  The Open House is a terrific way to spend a few hours in beautiful Newport Beach.  Our climbing wall, mini golf, and bounce house will be up for people to enjoy.  Be sure to wear sneakers if you want to climb the wall.  These activities will be free to our families that visit.   Also featured will be Jazz’s signature popcorn.

Shamrock Shakes:  Yes, they are rather weird and vaguely minty-vanilla-ish but I plan to get one from McD’s on St. Patty’s Day. Trivia:   The mysterious  Mc Donald’s version  was were first sold in a store in 1977.

If you want to make your own here is the recipe:  2 cups vanilla ice cream * 1 cup milk * 1/4 cup half & half * 1/2 teaspoon mint extract (spearmint, not peppermint) * 8 drops green food coloring Add all the ingredients and blend on high until well mixed. Drink with a straw. Enjoy!

Have a Terrific Day!
